Mike McMillan writes The Learning Programmer from North Little Rock, Arkansas, where he teaches computer science at University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College. Mike coordinates the Computer Science transfer program and teaches courses in introductory computer science (C++), data structures, algorithms, assembly language, and occasionally courses in JavaScript, Java, C#, and Python.
Mike has written several computer programming textbooks for publishers such as Cambridge University Press, O’Reilly Media, Jones and Bartlett, and McGraw-Hill. Mike has also published hundreds of hours of instructional video for companies including Infinite Skills (now part of O’Reilly Media) and Skillsoft.

In his spare time, Mike likes to train for and run in ultra marathons. He has completed several marathons and 50Ks, one 50 miler, and is preparing for a 100K race and a 100 mile race in 2020. Mike has completed the Pikes Peak Marathon twice and in 2019 he doubled by running the Pikes Peak Ascent on a Saturday and the Pikes Peak Marathon on a Sunday. Most of Mike’s friends and relatives think he’s crazy.
